ARTISTIC INTERPRETATION OF MORAL DECLINE AND THE PROBLEM OF CRIME IN THE WORKS OF O'LMAS UMARBEKOV

This article analyzes the artistic interpretation of moral decline and crime in the works of the prominent Uzbek prose writer O‘lmas Umarbekov. Based on the novel “Odam bo‘lish qiyin” (“It Is Hard to Be a Human”) and the play “Sud” (“Trial”), the study examines the gradual process of a character's moral disintegration, the conflict between individual and society, and the philosophy of sin and punishment reflected in the writer's prose and dramaturgy, along with a review of existing scholarship on the subject.
