Guriwal Aboriginal Bush Tucker Revitalization and Biodiversity Project Stage 1

The Guriwal Aboriginal Bush Tucker revitalization and biodiversity project aims to enhance the relationship between a popular local walk, local Aboriginal culture and heritage, biodiversity conservation and deepening the environmental biodiversity linkages in the local area. This will be achieved through removing invasive Weeds of National Significance (Boneseed, Lantana and Bitou Bush) from the remnant of Eastern Suburbs Banksia Scrub on Hill 60, a Threatened Ecological Community and surrounding bushland areas, developing walking paths through a bush tucker forest, further plantings of locally significant bush tucker in consultations with local elders and revitalising and adding to existing interpretive signage for visitors.
