A new isolate, strain NIT-TF6, belonging to the genus Desulfitobacterium, was obtained from a Dehalococcoides-dominated consortium that dechlorinates trichloroethene to ethene using formate as the sole electron donor. This study conducted genomic and physiological characterizations to investigate the strain's function within the consortium.
