This study, aimed to explore how the crocodile gut microbiome and its metabolites affect kidney health using a mouse model of HU, which mimics the effects of prolonged bed rest and space travel. We used both histological and transcriptomic analyses to evaluate the potential protective effects of the crocodile gut microbiome media on kidney structure and function and explored the underlying molecular mechanisms of the gut-kidney axis during times of physical inactivity and reduced gravity.
