MIRA cloud radar data from A-Train underflights with HALO (Radar reflectivity)
收藏资源简介:
This sub-dataset provides the downward looking radar reflectivity profiles from the MIRA cloud radar collected during the NASA A-Train satellites overpasses conducted during the NARVAL-DEMO, NARVAL-1, NARVAL-2 and NAWDEX campaigns. The MIRA cloud radar is part of the remote sensing payload of the German research aircraft HALO (High Altitude and Long Range). The dataset include the radar reflectivity in the time frame +- 30 minutes around the A-Train overpass. The radar reflectivity was calibrated using laboratory measurements and the backscatter of the sea surface. The data is provided on the same grid like the lidar measurements from WALES (10.5281/zenodo.19318123). This repository of subsetted MIRA measurements is intended for long-term preservation and for use in future validation and process-studies related to aerosol–cloud–precipitation interactions and the remote-sensing capabilities of the A-Train satellites.
