A Study on the Influence of GenAI use on Learning Engagement

This dataset examines the relationship between generative artificial intelligence use and learning engagement, based on online survey data collected from 519 students across three universities in China. The survey captured data on GenAI use, learning engagement, intrinsic motivation, AI learning support, and demographic variables. The data provides a solid foundation for examining how GenAI use affects learning engagement, thereby addressing a research gap in GenAI studies within higher education contexts. Additionally, the dataset has practical value for university educators by providing valuable insights for designing appropriate GenAI-integrated courses that promote learning autonomy among Chinese students. It also offers a basis for students themselves to independently use GenAI in their learning.
