<b>Digital financial inclusion and the rise of migrant entrepreneurship</b>

Migrant entrepreneurship is crucial to activating economic vitality. The literature has studied the determinants of migrant entrepreneurship, among which digital financial inclusion (DFI) has received little attention. With the DFI Index and China Household Financial Survey data, this article studies the impact of DFI on migrant entrepreneurship. Results indicate that (1) DFI can significantly promote migrants’ entrepreneurial behaviour, which was supported by various robustness tests. (2) Liquidity constraints and risk preference are the two main channels through which DFI affects migrant entrepreneurship. (3) Compared with opportunity-driven entrepreneurship, DFI has a greater impact on migrants’ necessity-driven entrepreneurship, and the effect of DFI on entrepreneurship is greater among female and low-educated migrant groups. This study explores the financial reason behind the entrepreneurial behaviour of migrants from a novel perspective.
