资源简介:
The common marmoset (Callithrix jacchus), a neotropical non-human primate (NHP), is increasingly used in biomedical research, as well as studies of behavior and cognition, due to its genetic proximity to humans, shared physiological and anatomical traits, and similar social structures. However, knowledge of the marmoset gut microbiota remains limited. This study aimed to characterize the gut microbiota of a captive cohort of common marmosets maintained on a uniform diet and in controlled housing. Over two years, 225 fecal samples were collected from five family groups (n = 26), and microbiota profiling was conducted using 16S rRNA gene amplicon sequencing. Sequencing was performed at the Joint Microbiome Facility of the Medical University of Vienna and the University of Vienna under the project ID JMF-1906-5.
