Detailed analysis of the genome sequence of the major sugarbeet pathogen Cercospora beticola. C. beticola, a Dothideomycete fungus, causes cercospora leaf spot disease on susceptible sugarbeet plants. Herein we have analyzed the genome of C. beticola and compared it to related plant pathogens with particular emphasis on secondary metabolite production.
