Genome sequencing of 4B0 Lactococcus lactis strain (4% isobutanol tolerant srain grown in absence of isobutanol).

Since such high isobutanol tolerance i.e. 4% isobutanol has not been reported earlier for L. lactis, our first objective was to confirm the strain genotype and identify the mutations responsible for enhanced isobutanol tolerance, so the genome of the 4% isobutanol tolerant strain was sequenced. We did a reference genome based analysis with the help of published native NZ9000 genome sequence that allowed us to identify all the mutations in 4B0 genome.
