Gene database of Haloferax volcanii DS2

<i>Haloferax volcanii</i> is a facultative anaerobic archaeon capable of survival under hypersaline environment. Found in salt lakes and other hypersaline environment, the archaeon could be cultivated in the laboratory, and serve as a useful model organism for understanding the physiology of microbes able to survive under high salt environments. This work sought to provide basic genetic information about <i>Haloferax volcanii</i> DS2, whose annotated genome sequence was downloaded from Genbank. Comprising gene name, gene function, and gene sequence, the resource should find use in a variety of fundamental and applied biotechnology workflows such as those seeking to understanding the evolution of tolerance to high salt environment, as well as exploring the biotechnological potential of the archaeon.
