The role of somatosensory innervation of adipose tissues

To investigate the role of somatosensory innervation of adipose tissues, we unilaterally ablate sensory innervation of adipose tissues, and profiled the gene expression in the inguinal adipose tissues 4 weeks after sensory ablation surgery. Overall design: Mice receive unilateral sensory ablation via AAV labeling. 3-4 weeks after surgery, mice are exposed to room temperature or cold (4C) for 5h. Inguinal adipose tissues are extracted for transcriptional profiling comparing ablated side versus control side within the same animal. N=5 mice for RT and N=4 mice for Cold.
