资源简介:
The source images were obtained using a Lumic HC5-LM cathodoluminescence (CL) microscope equipped with a hot cathode at the Institute of Paleobiology, Polish Academy of Sciences in Warsaw. The samples are thin sections prepared from the arms of the starfish Protoreaster nodosus, which were labeled with manganese (Mn). The file name indicates the individual specimen and the magnification (×). The Mn-induced luminescent skeleton appears as a bright orange signal, whereas black and dark grey regions represent skeleton formed under normal seawater conditions (without Mn²⁺) and resin containing soft tissues, respectively.
