These are 16SV4 reads from Illumina Novaseq SP(PE250) sequencer. They come from soil samples taken at numerous locations throughout the Fichte mountain range (Fichtegebirge), from three different land uses: agricultural, grassland, and forest. Most sites are topsoil only (to 10 cm depth), but a subset contain subsoil to depths of 40 cm.
