ESAI Energy analyzes the petrochemical industry using a holistic approach that encompasses our expertise in the upstream oil market, geopolitical trends, petrochemical projects, industry and climate policies, as well as global and regional macroeconomics. Our comprehensive strategy allows us to leverage our vast database in combination with our forecasting expertise, providing clear insights to past, present and future interactions between feedstocks in response to market trends.

The dataset includes global and regional data for prices, supply, and demand for each feedstock, with selected country level data for supply, demand, inventories, and trade. Moreover, we collect and estimate monthly and annual production data on primary petrochemicals, such as ethylene and propylene, with data added on a consistently, ongoing basis.

Based on our proprietary petrochemical dataset, we also present historical and future capacity by region and selected countries for ethylene and PDH. We break down ethylene capacity by regional/country and by feedstocks and update the capacity datasets by diligent tracking of global project & development information.

ESAI Energy additionally follows developments beyond the petrochemical industry for LPG and naphtha. This includes consumption in the residential, commercial, and transportation sectors, in consideration of consumer behavior and seasonal patterns. These factors affect pricing and petrochemical production margins.

Dataset Contents:
NGL Summary – Global balance for natural gas liquids, includes supply (fractionation/refinery) and demand of ethane, LPG, and pentanes plus.

NGL Prices – Ethane, Propane, Butane, Naphtha, Natural Gasoline, Condensate; Prices and spreads in relevant regions, including the US Gulf Coast, Canada, Asia, Europe, and the Arab
Gulf.

Ethane – Global, regional, selected-country levels of demand, supply, and balance; US Stocks,
US exports by destination.

Propane – Global, regional, and selected-country levels of demand, supply, and balance; US Stocks, US exports by destination.

Butane – Global, regional, and selected-country levels of demand, supply, and balance; US Stocks, US exports by destination.

LPG – Global, regional, and selected-country levels of demand, supply, balance, and stocks; Monthly and annual

Naphtha – Global, regional, and selected-country levels of demand, supply, balance, and stocks; Monthly and annual

Pentanes Plus – North America demand, supply, and balance.

Ethylene Production – Global, regional and selected-country levels of production based on reported data and ESAI estimates.

Ethylene Capacity – Monthly and prorated annual capacities according to the ESAI petrochemical project database. The data is presented as total ethylene capacity by
region/selected countries, as well as global and regional capacities by feedstocks (ethane, naphtha, propane, butane, and other). ESAI Energy maintains the capacity datasets by updating project information regularly.

PDH Capacity – Monthly and prorated annual capacities according to the ESAI petrochemical project database. ESAI Energy maintains the capacity datasets by updating project information regularly.
