The biosynthetic potential of Antarctic marine invertebrate metagenomes sequenced by long- and short-read platforms

In this study the metagenome of three Antarctic invertebrates (Flabelligera mundata, Terebellid sp., and Cnemidocarpa verrucosa) are investigated using a hybrid of data generated by Illumina and Oxford Nanopore sequencing platform, assembling metagenome-assembled genomes to explore for potentially novel bacterial secondary metabolites of use to biotechnological and medical industry.
