The study aimed at identifying gene sequence changes of the exons of human e cadherin (CDH1) gene. in Invasive Ductal Carcinoma of the breast from female patients of Chennai area , Tamil Nadu, India. DNA was isolated from normal and cancer breast tissues , CDH1 exons were then amplified as per the protocol of Berx et al., 1995. The amplified exons were sequenced , the sequences of normal and cancer samples were compared using NCBI BLAST.The study would pave way for more understanding of the role of e cadherins in Breast cancer. This project is a minor research project, funded by the UGC, Government of India.
