NRS-16244 | Patient Medical Records [Wallsend District Hospital]

These are patient medical record cards from the Wallsend District Hospital. All those which survive date from the period October-November, 1933. On each card is recorded the patient's name, age, occupation and address, their home situation and past medical history, the name of the physician treating them, the nature of the complaint for which they have been admitted, the course and progress of the treatment given, and their date of discharge. To each card is fastened the patient's daily charts for the period of their stay in the Hospital, a record of any prescriptions made for them, and any other records pertaining to their treatment. Accompanying these cards is a small sheaf of X-Ray reports dating from September-November, 1933. This appears to be merely a section of a very much longer series of original records, and may have been intended merely as a sample of records, to be retained for historical purposes.
