VPRS 15865 General Correspondence - Electric Lighting (GRS 301)

This record series comprises general correspondence relating to the provision of street lighting within the Town of Geelong. That municipality invited the Boroughs of Newtown and Chilwell, and Geelong West to join in the movement.A Sub-Committee with members from all the municipalities was appointed to consider the matter and bring up a report to the Electric Lighting Conference. Minutes of that Sub-Committee are included with this correspondence. The minutes are dated May 1894.The general correspondence dates from 23 June 1892 to 24 July 1911. It includes contract specifications and project cost estimates.
