To investigate the tissue-specific pathogenesis and the interactions between the virus and vector insect, total RNA was extracted from alimentary tract and salivary gland of RSV-viruliferous SBPH and non-viruliferous SBPH to construct expressed sequence tag databases for comparative transcriptome analysis. The changes in the expression of candidate transcripts may shed light on the pathogenesis of RSV in SBPH.
