NEON Biorepository Terrestrial Plant Collection (Herbarium Vouchers)

Terrestrial plant vouchers opportunistically collected during NEON plant diversity surveys. Primarily meant to be an archive for taxonomic and genetic vouchering. Sampling Collected once a year at a site Collections guided by site-specific rank-abundance lists derived from plant presence and percent cover data Vouchers also collected for specimens selected for genetic leaf tissue sampling Can also include vouchers taken for unknown or hard to identify species Methods Can be pressed in the field Ideally includes necessary diagnostic parts Preservation Archived as pressed herbarium vouchers at room temperature
