This pilot study sheds additional light on the anti-obesity effect of 5-OH PMF-enriched Chenpi extract and creates a foundation for the identification of obesity-prevention biomarkers in the gut microbiota. The aim of this pilot study was to understand how the microbial community changes during treatment with Chenpi using an in vitro model, the Simulator of the Human Intestinal Microbial Ecosystem SHIME.
