Sea ice system carbonate chemistry, Fram Strait, May-June 2023

The data provided here are from cruise ARTofMELT onboard the Icebreaker (I/B) Oden from 7 May- 15 June 2023 in the Fram Strait area. The objective of the study was to evaluate the spatiotemporal dynamics of the marine carbonate system at the onset of melt in the eastern Central Arctic Ocean. This dataset includes data for samples across the sea ice system including sea ice, seawater, under-ice water, brine, snow, lead, and slush. Data includes dissolved inorganic carbon, spectrophotometric potential of hydrogen (pH) on the total scale (measured at 25 degrees Celsius), total alkalinity, nutrients, dissolved organic carbon, and in-situ hydrographic parameters. The outputs from carbonate system calculations (e.g., aragonite saturation state, in-situ pH) are also included.
