A price survey of 100g of mackerel (aji) across all supermarkets nationwide revealed that the average price in October 2024 was 131 yen. Over the period from January 2015 to October 2024 (a total of 118 months), the month with the highest price for mackerel (aji) in supermarkets nationwide was July 2023, at 149 yen, while the month with the lowest price was November 2018, at 98 yen. The price difference between the highest price period (July 2023) and the lowest price period (November 2018) for mackerel (aji) across the national area was 51.325 yen.
