NRS-8406 | Questionnaire responses for land information directory [State Land Information Council, Department of Lands]

This series comprises responses from State Government agencies, Municipal and Shire Councils, higher education authorities, and other organisations, to a questionnaire distributed by the Inter-Departmental Committee on Land Information. The aim of the questionnaire was to gather extensive data on information systems currently used by state and local government agencies. This would enable the Council to assess the information needs of participants and identify those who were preparing, or in the process of establishing land-related automated systems and those who were still using manual systems. This collected data was to be used to compile a New South Wales Information Directory, however the Directory was never completed. The questionnaire asked respondents a wide range of questions designed to ascertain how information was stored; how access was gained to that information; and what was the content of the information gathered. The files also include "Nil" responses from some agencies and attached original maps and publications. The prefix used indicates the type of institution responding: 01 = Government Agencies; 02 and 03 = Councils; 04 = Higher Education Institutions; 06 = other; eg. AGL, Snowy Mountain Hydro Electric Authority; and 11 = Commonwealth Government Agencies. (12/13984.2-13996). 13 boxes (part).
