Quantum spin liquid state is a novel state of matter beyond the classical description of magnetism in condensed matter physics. Owing to its significance in quantum computing and other novel applications, the quantum spin liquid is an important research subject. In the last decade, this topic has regained considerable popularity with the availabilities of new candidate materials. Kitaev quantum spin liquid is one branch of this large field that is a contemporary research topic with an advantage to solve the ground state analytically. This project proposes single-crystal inelastic neutron scattering on a new honeycomb-based Kitaev material to investigate the novel field-induced quantum spin liquid state. Our study will provide invaluable information in understanding the deconfined magnetic continuum in the context of quantum criticality.
