This series consists of the master set of the Minutes of the Victoria Promotion Committee, from the first meeting on 13 March 1956 to the final meeting (No.536), on the 18 June 1981.The information contained in this series covers a wide range of activities undertaken, and reflects the advice furnished by the Victoria Promotion Committee in its role of liaising between overseas interest, the State Government and Victorian business. The type of activities undertaken by the Committee included the arrangement of itineraries and plans for :- visits from overseas bankers, industrialists, organisations' representatives- visits from overseas government representatives- visits by the Premier and other State Government representatives overseas- visits by Victorian business people overseasThe Minutes also detail the Committee's involvement in the following type of operations :- maintaining overseas promotional offices/agents- arranging trade and goodwill missions, eg China, US, Europe, London- representing Victoria at fairs/exhibitions, eg Hanover- Investment Envoys Scheme- representative on Victorian Immigration Advisory Council- provision of information from VPC Reference Library- statistical and economic research.
