Population structure of Staphylococcus hominis. Staphylococcus hominis subsp. novobiosepticus strain:DAR3384

Staphylococcus hominis is typical member of the flora of the human skin as well as an opportunistic pathogen. The species has been divided into the subspecies S. hominis subsp. hominis and S. hominis subsp. novobiosepticus. Previous analysis of multilocus sequence typing data revealed that S. hominis subsp. novobiosepticus may have arisin on mutliple occasions. This study aims to determine the relationship between these two subspecies as well as the extent and effects of recombination in this species.
