Mapping biomass availability in China: Bridging theoretical potential to practical utilization through sustainability and cost analysis

This dataset provides gridded annual estimates of biomass resource availability and roadside collection cost across mainland China from 2000 to 2020, at a 1 km spatial resolution. It includes:
Theoretical, collectible, and sustainable biomass potentials from agricultural residues, forestry residues, and livestock manureRoadside cost estimates ($/dry t) for biomass, reflecting regional logistical and economic constraintsThe dataset supports applications in energy system modeling, carbon mitigation planning, and spatial bioenergy analysis. All data are consistent with national statistics, land use data, and ecological sustainability considerations.
