With the new metabolomic and transcriptomic technologies, as the Next Generation DNA sequencing, studying the activities of the microorganism involved in the periodontal disease is now possible, contributing to the analysis of the interaction of periodontal disease and HIV-1 infection. To know the microbiological profile of the chronic periodontitis in HIV-1 patients can contribute to understand the inflammatory responses and also to search for new therapeutic approaches.
