A Randomized Crossover Fiber Supplementation Trial in Prader–Willi Syndrome

Increased fiber consumption shows promise for enhancing appetite regulation and metabolic health in the general population. However, the use of dietary fiber for individuals with Prader–Willi Syndrome (PWS), a condition characterized by hyperphagia, obesity and metabolic dysregulation, remains to be explored. Here, the primary objective was to assess the effects of a fiber intervention on hyperphagia in individuals with PWS. Secondary objectives included assessing its impact on metabolic health and gut microbiota, and identifying associations between changes in health markers and shifts in microbiota.
