Multidisciplinary Mesopelagic Scouting Survey eDNA metabarcoding files

Raw sequencing files produced using a MinION Mk1C device (Oxford Nanopore Technologies, ONT). Sequencing was performed on environmental DNA (eDNA) samples collected during the Multidisciplinary Mesopelagic Scouting Survey (M2S2) using Niskin bottles mounted on a CTD frame. Samples were amplified using a 12S marker universal for fish (V05_898/teleoR combination, Thomsen et al., 2016) and libraries prepared using the SQK-LSK110+EXP-PBC001 kit (ONT). The eDNA samples were collected targeting mesopelagic fish layers along the Irish shelf break, off the west coast of Ireland (NE Atlantic).
