资源简介:
This epsilonproteobacterium was isolated from the sulfidic area of the Gotland Deep in the central Baltic Sea (station 271, 57°19.2'N; 20°03'E; 215 m depth) in May 2005. Autecological as well as genomic studies were done on GD1. Genome sequencing was funded by the Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation. Genomics revealed the presence of genes for sulfur and hydrogen oxidation, denitrification, and inorganic carbon fixation via the rTCA. Co-localization of the genes for chemotaxis, nitrate transport, and nitrate reduction indicated positive chemotaxis towards nitrate. Taken together, genomic and autecological data indicated the fundamental metabolic and physiologic potential of iSulfurimonas/i sp. GD1 which enable it to play a key role in biogeochemical cycles within different zones of pelagic Baltic Sea redoxclines despite strong physicochemical gradients with broad fluctuations in energy sources.
