This study dataset conducted a large-scale investigation of microbiomes and viromes in mudflat intertidal zones in 2021, to understand their biodiversity, functional potential, and ecology mechanisms. The intertidal sediment samples were collected from 12 coastal regions, spanning from the southmost to the northmost in China.
