The Lifts and Cranes Act 1967 (No.7629) provided for the safe construction, installation and use of lifts, cranes, and amusement structures.In this regard, it provided for:- the appointment of inspectors and provision for inspections- the issue of certificates of competency to lift mechanics, crane drivers and riggers- safety precautions to be taken in the manufacture and installation of lifts, cranes and amusement structures- safety precautions in the operation of lifts, cranes and amusement structures- registration of lifts, cranes and amusement structures.This volume registers the suitably qualified Riggers. A certificate of competency was issued bearing the registration number.The information recorded includes:- date of entry- certificate number- rigger's name and date of birth.
