Environment DNA (eDNA) samples filtered from seawater in the Gulf of America (Gulf of Mexico) as part of the Mesophotic and Deep Benthic Communities (MDBC) restoration project launched after the Deepwater Horizon oil spill. Each eDNA sample was sequenced with four primer sets (MiFish 12S, 18S, CO1, and 28S) to target metazoans, eukaryotic plankton and protists, corals, and fishes found in the water column and seafloor.
