Oil consumption in Central and South America 2023, by product group

In 2023, diesel was the main oil product consumed in Central and South America. That year, diesel/gasoil consumption in the region accounted for more than one third of the total oil consumption, at 2.38 million barrels a day. Meanwhile, consumption of gasoline amounted to around 1.57 million barrels per day.
