资源简介:
The biotransformation of a wide range of micropollutants was investigated in a laboratory-scale, sequential sand-biofiltration system. The continuousy operated system was fed with aerated, treated wastewater. Within the first column of the system, a rapid depletion of dissolved oxygen was paralleled by a decrease in dissolved organic carbon concentrations. After reaeration, higher levels of dissolved oxygen could be maintained throughout the second columnn of the system. Depending on the micropollutant, biotransformation was more efficient in either the first or the second column. Samples for chemical and metatranscriptomic analysis were collected at different locations in the system. By linking metatranscriptomic information and chemical data on biotransformation, we aim to obtain a better understanding of micropollutant biotransformation.
