Replication Data for: How education, generation and gender jointly structure green and radical right voting

This reproduction package contains files to reproduce the findings reported in: Schäfer, Armin & Steiner, Nils. D. (2025): How education, generation and gender jointly structure green and radical right voting, West European Politics. We provide the following R-files for reproduction: 1. An R-script (“recode_ess.qmd”) that processes the source data from the European Social Survey (ESS). Users can run this file on the raw ESS data to reproduce our dataset for the analysis. ESS data can be downloaded from: https://ess.sikt.no/en/?tab=builder. We used/downloaded data for waves 1-10 for the twelve Western European countries covered by all these waves. 2. The final processed R-dataset (“ess_short.rds”) for the analysis produced by (1.). 3. An R-script (“reproduction_schaefer_steiner_WEP.qmd”) that reproduces all our results (main text & appendix) based on (2.). Note: It takes a while (<24h) to completely run this file. In addition, we provide an html-file based on (3.), which shows all figures and tables, alongside the code used to generate those.
