Arthur Argent served from 1914 to 1918 as an army lorry/car driver with the 606th Motor Transport Company ASC. He was gassed twice at the Somme, and was also injured in the leg being blown out of a staff car (the officer was killed in the incident). He was one of the highest paid privates in the army due to his dependants - seven children born before or during the War. Part of a collection relating to Arthur Argent, which includes photographs and badges.
