Amphioctopus fangsiao Genome sequencing and assembly

The project sequenced the whole genome the gold-ringed octopus (Amphioctopus fangsiao), in order to elucidate the genomic signatures that contribute to the octopod neural novelties. For genome sequencing, one individual (arm tissues of one adult male octopus) was used for the contigs assembly, and the same individual was sequenced by Hi-C technique to further scaffold the contigs into pseudo-chromosomes. For bulk RNA transcriptome, a total of four individuals were used.
