Global Change - Assessment 1

This dataset was compiled in order to compare the critical thermal maxiumum in different species of fish from the classes, Chondrichthyes and Actinopterygii.

In order to collate this data a literature search was carried out using web of science and google scholar. Relevant data was found by using several search phrases 

('chondrichthyes critical thermal maximum', 'actinopterygii critical thermal maximum') and a number of key words ('Critical thermal maximum', 'CTmaxima', 'Thermal tolerance')

This trait was picked as with rising sea temperatures it would be interesting to see how heat tolerant a range of species are across the world, looking at this data spatially

may also highlight areas of more tolerant fish or those that are more vulnerable to greater water temperatures. Critical thermal maximum was chosen  

as the unit of measurement as this is a common metric used in a wide range of studies meaning it can easily be used to compare data from seperarate studies.
