NRS-14509 | Minutes of meetings [Willimbong Shire Council]

This series is comprised of volumes containing the minutes of meetings held by the Willimbong Shire Council.The minutes were all typed onto separate sheets then joined together into one volume. Each set of minutes was to be signed by the President of the Shire (later, the Chairman), usually at the following meeting when they were read and confirmed. However, these minutes have not been signed.Committees reporting to the Council at each meeting included: the Finance Committee, the Works Committee, and the Health Committee. Other reports received by the Council generally came from the Health Inspector, the Shire Engineer, the Shire Clerk and the Noxious Weeds Inspector.The minutes of every meeting usually included the following proceedings: Attendance and Apologies, Confirmation of Previous Minutes, Matters Arising Out of the Minutes, Correspondence, Reports, and Other Business.The minutes document each decision the Council made, including matters concerning roads, buildings, bridges, sanitary concerns, public appointments, tourism and local business.Willimbong Shire Council was renamed Leeton Shire Council on 19 July 1946.
