Phoxim is a common organophosphorus insecticide. Its extensive use in the medicinal plant Angelica sinensis (Oliv.) Diels has caused serious effects on the ecological environment, human health, yield and quality. The aim of this study was to inoculate Novosphingobium sp. RL4 (RL4), which possesses the capability to degrade phoxim, into the rhizosphere soil of A. sinensis under phoxim induced stress, and investigate its impact on plant growth, accumulation of pharmacodynamic components, residual levels of phoxim, and soil rhizosphere microecology. RL4 inoculation positively affected soil microecosystem by inhibiting the abundance of pathogenic bacteria caused by Pho and maintaining soil microbial community structure homeostasis.
