FASTA files of fecal microbial MAGs and vOTUs from diarrheic and healthy pre-weaned Holstein calves.

A metagenomic binning analysis was performed on fecal samples from 50 healthy calves and 50 diarrheic calves to comprehensively investigate the association between microbial dysbiosis and calf diarrhea. By integrating shotgun metagenomics, untargeted metabolomics, targeted bile acid metabolomics, and qPCR assays, this study demonstrates that microbial dysbiosis and bile acid perturbations form a self-reinforcing vicious cycle that drives the onset and persistence of calf diarrhea.
