Metagenomic and 16S metataxonomic sequencing of pleural fluid

Shotgun Illumina PE metagenomic sequencing, and paired 16S V3-V4 ribosomal RNA bacterial metataxonomic sequencing, of pleural fluid specimens obtained from people residing on the Sunshine Coast, Australia, who were diagnosed with or without pleural space infections between March and November 2022. Reagent-only controls and healthy sputum controls have also been included to control for background microbial signal.
