Characterization of the genomic diversity of the Saccharomycotina yeast Maudiozyma humilis

Maudiozyma humilis is a yeast species from the Saccharomycetaceae family found world-wide, mainly from various fermented foods. For example, it has been reported as the second most abundant species in bread-making sourdoughs. We have assembled a large collection of M. humilis strains from various origins (e.g., countries, substrates) with the aim of characterizing the genetic diversity and the population structure of this species. Each strain genome has been sequenced using Illumina platform (NoveSeq 6000). Different approaches of comparative genomics and population genomics were used to investigate these data.
