Total RNAseq Transcriptome from Ileal and Rectal Biopsy in Treatment Naive Pediatric Crohn Disease

Crohn's disease (CD), an autoimmune gastrointestinal disorder, has a complex and partially understood pathogenesis. To assess the transcriptome signature of pediatric CD, high-throughput transcriptome analysis was performed in total RNAseq of ileal and rectal biopsies from treatment-naive children with CD and age-matched non-Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) controls. The biopsies were collected during diagnostic colonoscopies of children diagnosed with CD (n=8) or had no eventual diagnosis of gut inflammation and were considered as non-IBD controls (n=12). Biopsies were stored in RNAlater at -80C until analysis.
