De-identified Analytic Dataset for "Lethal Proximity: Victim–Offender Relationships and Killing Methods in Femicides in Türkiye"

This record contains the de-identified case-level analytic dataset supporting the study “Lethal Proximity: Victim–Offender Relationships and Killing Methods in Femicides in Türkiye.” The dataset covers 5,461 killing incidents recorded as femicides in Türkiye between 2008 and 2025. Cases were identified through Anıt Sayaç and independently corroborated using at least two publicly accessible news reports before deduplication and coding. The repository includes two versions of the dataset. The first workbook contains the de-identified case-level data organized by year together with the consolidated analytic dataset. The second provides the consolidated analytic dataset in a single-sheet format for ease of reuse and reproduction of the reported analyses. The repository version contains only non-identifying analytic information, including incident year, study period, victim–offender relationship category, and killing method category. Victim names, direct news links, and fine-grained location information are not included. Access to the files is restricted because the dataset concerns case-level records of femicide. The accompanying full codebook and analysis log are deposited separately as openly accessible research materials.
