Data on species occurrences, habitat associations and future habitat scenarios for threatened saproxylic beetles

This dataset supports the study of relationships between EU forest habitats and species distributions, as well as future projections of habitat extent and species Area of Occupancy (AOO) under multiple conservation scenarios. The dataset consists of three components:(1) Species–habitat linked occurrence data, derived by spatially joining species records with EU Annex I habitat polygons in ArcGIS Pro.(2) Habitat area change projections under multiple management scenarios (Business-as-Usual, Natura 2000, and Favourable Reference Area scenarios).(3) Species AOO and IUCN category projections based on changes in habitat availability and expert-defined habitat associations. Species occurrence data originate from the Life for Species dataset. Habitat spatial data are derived from the national OZOLS habitat database. Spatial analyses, including overlay and distance calculations, were performed in ArcGIS Pro. The dataset includes both observed spatial relationships and modelled future scenarios to support conservation planning and assessment of habitat sufficiency for species persistence in Latvian forest ecosystems
